Summary
Welcome back to Community Group, This week we wrapped up our Asking For A Friend series with the final question. Our final question was:
What does it mean to be spiritually mature.
Russ did a great job explaining the question. The first thing we need to know is, are you truly saved. Do you remember the time when you went from death to life. It’s the time you fell in love with Jesus. When did you realize that you were morally bankrupt. When did you invite Him in to fix your mess. Because of that love, we wanted to spend more time with Him. We want to walk with Him and talk with Him. We desire to worship Him, to please Him, to be more like Him.
Growing as a Christian means that we invite Jesus into everything. We give Him access to our entire life. Every nook and cranny, nothing is of limits to Him. We desire to spend time with Him, reading His Word, speaking with Him on a daily basis. That is the only way we will grow in our relationship with Him.
As we grow in our relationship with the Lord, we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. What does that mean, it means that we have given the Holy Spirit permission to lead us and guide us to where we need to be. We seek the Holy Spirit as we make decisions. Time with Jesus will make you more like Jesus. It has been said if you miss 2 or 3 days with Jesus, only you will know. If you miss 1 or 2 weeks with Jesus, everyone will know.
Your desire to spend time with Jesus needs to be more than your desire to spend time with a loved one. He needs to be your priority.
