ID Week 4 -SEALED

Read

EPHESIANS 1:13-14

13 In him you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed. 14 The Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.

EPHESIANS 4:30

30 And don’t grieve God’s Holy Spirit. You were sealed by him for the day of redemption.

2 CORINTHIANS 1:21-22

21 Now it is God who strengthens us together with you in Christ, and who has anointed us. 22 He has also put his seal on us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a down payment.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:5

5 Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment.

TITUS 3:4-6

4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared, 5 he saved us—not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy—through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit. 6 He poured out his Spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior

GALATIANS 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things.

ROMANS 8:14

14 For all those led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons.

1 JOHN 4:15

15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God—God remains in him and he in God.

Summary

This week we spoke about being sealed. At the moment of Salvation, we are sealed in Christ. My favorite example of a seal is when a very important letter or document was written and the writer poured hot wax on the paper and then placed his signet on it, leaving no doubt who wrote it. That’s how I feel about my Salvation, it was promised to me by God Himself and the signet was Jesus.

We can go through life asking ourselves, who am I, what should I be doing, or even, am I worth anything. Beloved, just look at who sealed you, and how He sealed you.  God ‘s seal was His only begotten Son, who gave his life for you. The blood Jesus shed on the cross acted as that wax, and when Jesus said it is finished, that was the point the signet was placed.

Knowing this, why do we choose to leave defeated lives?

Why would we ever question our worth?

Do we think so little of the cross and the sacrifice of Christ?

We are loved by the creator of the universe. Loved so much that He spared nothing to rescue us. He created you with a purpose. He created you to give you a live and a future. Do not, question your worth, question your role and your purpose. Not in a negative way, but rather, by asking yourself.

Am I living out the purpose God has for my life?

Am I playing the role I have been created to play?

God knows exactly what He has for you! Stop asking yourself what you should be doing, and as the One who actually knows.
