Renovation Remix- Week 2 Automatic Generosity
Week 2- Automatic Generosity
Read
Philippians 3:12-
12 Not that I have already reached the goal or am already perfect, but I make every effort to take hold of it because I also have been taken hold of by Christ Jesus. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, 14 I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus.15 Therefore, let all of us who are mature think this way. And if you think differently about anything, God will reveal this also to you. 16 In any case, we should live up to whatever truth we have attained. 17 Join in imitating me, brothers and sisters, and pay careful attention to those who live according to the example you have in us. 18 For I have often told you, and now say again with tears, that many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their end is destruction; their god is their stomach; their glory is in their shame; and they are focused on earthly things. 20 Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. 21 He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of his glorious body, by the power that enables him to subject everything to himself.
Summary
Welcome back to BT Community Group, I pray you had an amazing week and that you would have had an opportunity to share the gospel with someone. We are in week two of our Renovation Remix series, you had an opportunity to hear all that the Lord has done this past year. What is automatic generosity? And how is that difference from autopilot generosity? One involves our involvement and continued engagement, and one does not.
Automatic Generosity flows from conviction. The FIRST point is that it flows from the right FOCUS. It can also be said that it flows from the right foundation. Paul said that he continued to press on because Jesus took a hold of him. Romans 5:8 says that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. He has taken a hold of those who have placed their trust in him. The question we need to ask ourselves is, does he have a hold of all of you? Your life, your family, your finances, your EVERYTHING. We need to focus on what God has for us in the future, remembering that we can learn from our past. We press forward because we know that our best lies in front of us.
AUTOPILOT Generosity flows from CONSUMPTION. It may give, but it consumes much more. You can’t really enjoy the blessings of what God has given you if you don’t practice giving back to him. The Bible tells us that God loves a cheerful giver. We don’t want to be those people who say, Lord, we did lot’s of good things, but they will hear, depart from Me for I don’t know you. Trusting Jesus is the only way to get to heaven. Trusting Jesus is evidenced in our generosity.

Announcement
CG Leaders, please take time to make sure that everyone in your group knows what the Renovation Initiative is. Remind them to pick up a Renovation update booklet and pray about the amount they have committed to. Our prayer is that those who have not joined us in Renovation, would join us. Another desire is that those already engaged in Renovation, would pray about the amount they have committed to. Is that amount still what they are feeling committed to, or if God is asking them to increase their amount.
